JP FARMS

JP Farms is the agricultural arm of Jamaica Producers Group Ltd. and comprises the two largest banana farms in Jamaica (Eastern Banana Estates Ltd. and St. Mary Banana Estates Ltd.).
	These farms traditionally produce bananas mainly for the export market, and account for approximately 35% of the Group's banana sales in the United Kingdom. In recent times, however, special emphasis has been placed on developing the consumer markets for ripe and green bananas in Jamaica. Both our farms are ISO 9002 and IS0 14001 certified.

Eastern Banana Estates Ltd.

Eastern Banana Estates Limited (EBEL) is a 2,300-acre banana plantation situated at Golden Grove, St. Thomas.  A wholly-owned subsidiary of Jamaica Producers Group Ltd., EBEL is the largest banana-growing entity in Jamaica comprising five farms with 1,568 acres (635.1ha) under production.  In addition to supplying bananas for export, EBEL contributes significantly to the local banana trade.  The Estate is also noted for its vital contribution to the economy, being the largest employer in the parish of St. Thomas.

In June 2000 EBEL became the first farm in the Caribbean to achieve ISO 9002 certification, and was granted ISO 14001 certification in September 2002.

St. Mary Banana Estates Ltd.

St. Mary Banana Estates Limited (SMBE) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jamaica Producers Group Ltd. and is located in the north-eastern end of our picturesque island, Jamaica. The 1600-acre (648 ha) estate, established in 1986, is the second largest banana farm in the island and currently has 1,340 acres (542.7ha) under banana production.

In February 2001 SMBE became ISO 9002 certified, and achieved ISO 14001 certification in September 2002.
